My experiences with a Nokia N900
It piqued my interest as I'm seeing increasing levels of legislation that are dealing with electronic media over and above the requirements of the ECA.
I've commented on the Electronic Tax Invoice requirements from SARS, but as I recall the Publications Act is also stamping on this turf too.
If the ECA was meant to resolve all these issues, does this mean that the ECA leaves much to be desired?

Thanks for dropping by. I think the Act that deals with this sort of thing more appropriately is the ECT Act and not so much the EC Act.
As I read the ECT Act, it lays a decent groundwork for where we need to go. There are probably a couple areas where the Act can be improved and beefed up but I think it is sufficient to help us achieve what we want to achieve as far as shifting to digital communications is concerned.

My name is Gideon and I am a e-law consultant (inter alia). It seems that altough the ECT act has legalized e-signatures it has not yet found application in practice. The next big wave of law and start ups will be the the first commpanies who get and apply advanced e- signatures.
