Well, I'd call that a rather definitive response.

I think you're taking a soft line on Mr McLaren and his lawyers. I saw a link on Muti to his blog but when I tried to read his blog I found it completely incomprehensible. Not a good starting point for a "web expert".

Last time I had to deal with a lawyer making threats I published his email, including his email address (with a mailto link), phone number and spelling mistakes.

After they did nothing for a few months I called his secretary and asked him to do a search on his name in Google. That got things moving again ;-)

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who makes legal threats is just begging to be made a fool of. Like the elusive Mr Meyer (of timeshare fame) on my blog.

We'll rally round if they try to do a hellkom on your blog ;-)

Thanks Donn. Hopefully McLaren will abandon this quest and go back to doing whatever he was doing and stop trampling on bloggers' rights. I have no interest pursuing this unless he provokes me or unless I have to.

I find it hilarious that he calls himself an unscrupulous sod... that is too much!

Anyway everyone is 100% behind you. You should take this guy down in flames, with his lawyer!

It seems to me that Mr McLaren is better at promoting himself and getting into scrapes than operating a website business - maybe he should consider a career change and go into politics.

You know, that might just liven up the political arena!
