Privacy settings in Facebook

I had a mildly alarming experience with Facebook Notes this afternoon.     Hi Paul,
    just a tip there is option at facebook in setting panel let you able to check what a friend can see.

    the best is to define different friend lists for more flexibility.

    in fact even when you select friend for a note they are just notified about but the privacy setting remains the default : friends can read it.
