Thank you for your very thoughtful post on this very disturbing experience. It's nice to know that there are many expressing outrage at this seeming prejudice against those who are 'smart enough' to be third wave lawyers.

Paul I agree with you 100% SOHO lawyers do work hard and sometimes even harder. Being a SOHO lawyer myself, I have realised how we put more personal attention into our files as well as better curtomer relations.

Hi Grant, Susan and Janaee, thanks for commenting. It is too easy for clients to think that SOHO lawyers don't work as hard or as well as their colleagues in larger firms but when your survival depends on how well you work, you work pretty darn hard.

Only caught up with blogs I hadn't read in awhile just now. I must say this was a very enlightening read. And following up on all the links you added gave me a very insightful look into SOHO lawyers (as you refer to them). Great read! And I agree, it is unfortunate that work from home lawyers are seen to be less professional than the work from a fancy 3 storey law firm.
