And for you to dedicate an entire comment to it, on a blog which you say you don't read but do anyway, well, that's just sad. I find that particularly irksome.

Re: The Guy McLaren debacle

Richard, as I pointed out to someone else last week, correcting someone else's typo on the web is pretty pathetic. It's beyond ridiculous and pathetic but I am dumbstruck to think that anyone can seriously get away with things to the extent to which he is doing so on a semi-reputable business networking site like My Genius. He's having a field day and seems he has no interest in taking stock of himself.

What I don't understand is how anyone intends to make money through him? By selling on his blogs? What does it matter where the blogs stand on Google? Who cares about the stuff he or his followers are writing about? Where does the big business or "food off his table" come into it? Somehow there just seems to be a lot of smoke but zero fire.

Re: The Guy McLaren debacle

I'm the unfortunate individual who had the misfortune of ever crossing paths with the "Guy Maclaren deal" and falling for it. I wonder how much of Guy's traffic is from people looking for the actual traffic department? I certainly see a lot of traffic coming in to one of my other blogs because of a couple posts I wrote on traffic fines. That topic remains the single biggest traffic source. Calling his blog "traffic department" must have that in mind ...

Re: The Guy McLaren debacle

Good point there Coda. It screams of "spam"... sorry, I mean "scam"... because clearly your business has nothing to do with the traffic department and you're hijacking their name to increase Google click-through traffic.

My suggestion is to take the huge amount of advice that has been handed your way over the past week, whether you like it or not, and build on it - there's nothing better than constructive criticism. And as someone with over 10 years of industry experience I think you can appreciate that. Prove me wrong.

Re: The Guy McLaren debacle

Guy, one question - why is your business url "trafficdepartment.co.za" ? According to my dictionary it means "masturbation" or "coitus interruptus". Dude, you're a little obsessed with masturbation in your posts and comments.

As for not caring about my thoughts and opinions, that's ok. You are in good company. Plenty people don't really care what I have to say. Mostly I keep going to amuse myself.

Re: The Guy McLaren debacle

Guy, I actually had to look up that word "onanist".
